Our Lullabye

by Joyce Duboise   Apr 10, 2008

Our Lullabye

If the world were to watch
You and I
We would be considered
a sad, lonesome lullaby

A story your children
Would rather not hear
A tale that makes the toughest man
Shed a tear

A romance gone
Terribly wrong
A not so typical
R&B love song

It would start out
Once Upon A Time
A story of a prince and a princess
Without the Happily Ever After line

A drama that makes you
Hide your teary eyes
A heartbreak that reminds you
Of your once late night cries

A Bitter-Sweet memory
An unforgettable dream
A hopeless romantic
An eye that has lost its gleam.

A fairytale in which
The beauty would forever sleep
Where the wicked witch
Would at last, reap.

If the world were to watch
You and I
We would be considered
A sad, lonesome Lullabye.
