A Saved Soul

Dark father, bless me I've sinned a few times.
I've stole more than just nickels and dimes.
I've stolen a love that was pure and just.
Turned their love into ashes and dust.
It took no effort and one small kiss.
Then I took advantage of this little miss
She thought I loved her, but it was all a lie.
Now that she sees the truth she wishes to die.
It was all my fault, I just wanted to feel love for a night.
But now her body lies crumpled from her jump at that height.
She died, and it was all my fault.
I prayed to God and he brought life to a halt.
I told him what happened and asked him to take me instead.
Take me away and bring back their souls from the dead.
Let them take my place in life, and me their's in death.
Give them the beat in my heart and the air in my breath.
He smiled a minute and he granted my wish.
I prepared for Hell, but my soul he did fish,
I asked why to hell I was not bound.
He told me, "My child, your soul we have found".
