When You Don't Trust Your Heart

by AmberSherrellxxIve Been Sitting Here Trying To Find Myselfxx   Apr 14, 2008

I'm sitting here on the telephone
Smiling when he says my name
Feeling kind of guilty about the fact
That he's the one that I crave

I'm twirling my hair around my fingers
I'm getting lost in his baby blue eyes
I'm finding myself upset
When we have to say goodbye

I love the slightest touch
Of his skin against mine
And when I'm around him
I wish I could stop time

I love the way he looks at me
Without the slightest sound
And I know that if I fall
He won't let me hit the ground

But let me ask, what do you do
When he makes your heart flutter
And every time you're around him
You have to try not to stutter?

What do you do
When you're in love with your best friend
Plus you're in a relationship
That you don't really want to end?

What do you do
When it's him that you adore
But you don't know if he feels the same?
What if he doesn't want more?

I'm standing at a crossroad
And it's ripping me apart
Which way do you turn
When you don't trust your heart?

This poem was amazing. The rhymes near the end of the poem touched me, so was the ending. The choosing of words fit perfectly in this topic. The subject is a very problematic one, what do you do when you're in love with your best friend but also in a relationship?
Hope you'll solve th problem 5/5
