Masks

by Valiantpenguin   Apr 16, 2008

This life that seemed so simple once
Has turned into a Masquerade ball.
Where everyone has a different mask,
And everyone keeps changing
Hoping to break and tear others apart.
The ones you thought once loved you
Have turned their back, changed their mask
You hope and plead
That one day the ever-changing masks will disappear
So you can know who is real.
So everyone can be revealed
All the masks that were changing and changing
Making your mind go round and round in circles
Will all come off
All the liars, the fakes, the flakes
Will reveal their faces.
But that day will never come
You will never really know
Who is fake, who is a liar, who is a flake.
But trust in the ones you can
And believe in the ones you will
For some do remove the mask
And some never had one at all.
