NIRVANA

by Obirikorang Adu   Apr 16, 2008

I stand at the far end of your perfumed trail
And listen to the music of the night air on your skin,
Which I dare say is marble!
I kiss the imprints of your very presence,
And chase after the traces of your trailing hair,
Which the arid north winds blow so far off.
I dance to the thunderclap of your imposing strides
And yield to the bidding of your sublime gait.
I’m left confounded on vast, trackless prairies
By the symmetry of those gleaming ivory statuettes
And the lithesome surge of your hips.
I bathe in the earthly dust
That your shadow stirs up into the night sky
And keep an image of you
In the waters of the eastern springs;
A hallowed reflection of the beauty of your perfection.
Your touch inflames my pristine desires
Which burn on the pyres of ecstasy.
Your eyes light the dark hallways of my heart
And defy all devouring elements;
Wildfires,
The sweltering heat of the Sahara,
Even the radiance of the sun!
The stillness of your spirit is a cloudburst,
A thunderstorm,
A maelstrom,
Poseidon in rage!
I’ll give up everything, anything,
Just to see the faultlessness of your smile,
On those unappareled lips.
And revel in the never-ending bliss of your embrace;
Constant,
Endless,
Undying.
