In love, we wittingly expect the unexpected

so when that big red smear
finally presents itself
to our panting hearts
with the most eager of arms

we're only half surprised
and hopelessly disenchanted

    Very profound and true. I like this piece a lot- you managed to say so much within just three stanzas which is truly great. Your choice of words is excellent and the message is portrayed fantastically.
    Powerful piece, truly deep and captivating.
