Right Words, Wrong Love

Right Words, Wrong Love

In an open field with a fire burning
Your truck parked under the stars
A group of us just hanging out
And me wishing I was in your arms

But I knew the rules in my head
So I ignored what was in my heart
Gave up on us so long before
We even had the chance to start

Chorus:
Look at what I gave up for you
All because I liked the view
My dreams looked pretty in your eyes
But that's what led to my demise
This mirage im seeing wont come to life
I only wake to grief and strife
You always said you loved me best
But here I lay this hole in my chest
An empty space a heartless being
Like all your words life lost its meaning

I called you up one night
To talk about the overdone wedding
As I let all the sad tears fall
You told me you loved me and that it would be alright

I know you mean your words
And that's what made this hard
But in the end you'd leave
When I'd let down my guard

Chorus

Bridge:

But time and all the right words
Can break anyone down just to take a chance
So I took a step and that leap of faith
Just for you to show me that it wasn't our turn to dance

We faltered at the steps
And we never finished out the song
You left me with the music
But no words to sing along

And now I've missed out on something
That would have been true
Something that was totally different
From me and you

I kept comparing every guy
To what you used to be
And now I know
The truth is you were never meant for me

Chorus
