Darius, (page 2)

Anstazia, stood over Darius as he awoke in moderate pain. He was back in his apartment now lying in bed. Youve been out for an hour now. she said. Merely taking a nap, I figured you could finish the rest of the fight. said Darius slyly. Im sure you were, youve always been quite lazy! she remarked, Youre lucky I came in the nick of time to save your lazy butt. Yes, but more importantly, what was it doing in holy ground. Is he getting so brave as to break the covenant and attack a peaceholder? Darius questioned. It appears the rumors are true, war is upon us. Staz, go and tell Benjamin the news and hopefully well be able to hold some ground. Ill do some reconnaissance and build a plan. Staz, leaned forward and pressed firmly on the swelled bump extruding from Darius head. Dont be so quick to tell me what to do! However, I miss teasing simple Ben, Ill go and inform him. Darius flinched slightly but held his composure against the rough and tumble equally young woman.

Darius stood in the dark alley as the slow and steady rain began to fall. His hood felt heavy but slightly cooler with the coming rain. His hands rested at his side with comfort feeling the whips secured beneath his clothing. A metal door clanged open and a large and unkempt man followed out. When he saw Darius he quickly turned back towards the door whilst a flash streamed past his face. A sharp clang followed as the whip struck the door and slammed it shut. Then the man pivoted back and pulled a knife from his belt. The second whip, already en route, struck forward striking the mans knee and sent him downward. Darius whips recoiled magnetically as he strode forward. The man cocked his arm and threw the blade at the peaceholder. Darius brought his arm in its path to block the object as it landed fully into his forearm. The blade stung deep but Darius would show no fear to this evil but pathetic man. Then the man rose painfully attempting to continue his attack. He picked up an empty crate leaning against the alley wall. Darius threw his arms into coinciding arcs again sending his first whip crushing threw the crate. It struck the man painfully in the chest stealing his breath and glazing his eyes. Darius second whip came up short with the loss of his strength stolen by the knife. The man slumped to the ground breathing heavily trying to regain his breath. Why have they broken the covenant? Darius boomed as he pulled the knife from his arm. What are you talking about? the man wheezed. Darius spun the knife and then flung it into the mans arm. I know that you work with them, so make this easy on yourself. Darius said as the man writhed in pain. His bald head and scruffed face twisted in pain ironically as he had caused much pain to so many others in his lifetime. Hes killing off the peaceholders. the man stammered. Quite daring, whats his plan? To make room for an army. Theres no stopping it, even with the full Altic order The man sneered. What army, he doesnt have anything formidable that I know of. The man looked up and quickly pulled the blade from his arm. Darius brought his arm up to strike down the man. However, the man spazamed slightly and brought the knife slowly to his own throat. Fear filled the mans eyes suddenly as he struggled to resist his own movements. He sliced his neck open slowly and drank his reddened blood. Darius realized the man was somehow forced to kill himself as if something had taken his body and enacted the vile act. Darius secured his whips away and darted out the ally knowing that something had discovered his interrogation and would soon have its own interrogation.

Again I am impressed this is surely turning into an action novel
The imagery is great and I find it to be easy reading with contemperary wording
