Darius, (page 3)

It cant be, its just not possible I mean he doesnt even have the power. Benjamin cried as he heard the news. Afraid Ben? said Staz. I havent been able to contact the order tonight. We need to warn them as soon as possible! Ben shrieked. Well, youre a priest and you havent been harmed yet. Staz teased. Just then the lights left the bricked room and a chill filled the air. MOVE! yelled Staz so loudly it froze Ben to his bones. She grabbed the middle aged man roughly by the arm and ran at the wall away from the door. Her hands entered her deceivingly slender coat and she pulled two flares from within. She crashed them together suddenly as she instinctively closed her eyes to protect her from the blinding light. She threw them across the room and again opened her eyes. Ben stood with an arm over his head dazed from the flash of light that erupted forth. A shadowy form slid quickly back out the now opened door as the flares landed near the doorway. Staz pulled out a curiously folded mechanical object again from within her slender coat. She hit it hard on the end and the object unhinged and clicked together into a now understandable object. She pulled out four folded arrows and quickly snapped them into form. She slid all four onto the bow string and pulled them back as she swung to face the window. Within an instant she shoved Ben out and leaped backwards through the window while sending a few shots threw the room. Ben was amazed at the speed in which she could fire. It was a blur of movements that somehow never took the time to care for time. Ben was lifted to his feet and they raced off down a nearby alley.

Darius sat silently in his sparsely furnished and decorated apartment. This has been his home for the last two years of his being in the order. There were no pictures of family or friends on the walls. The main points visible in the place were a punching bag and a workout bench. Some part of him missed his old life, hanging with friends and doing ordinary things like watching movies. Then the door kicked open violently as the two came quickly in. They came after Ben and most likely the rest of the order. Staz said while she wiped her forehead of the heavy rain. Its good the rain falls tonight, to keep us hidden. remarked Darius scarily devoid of any emotion of the late events. Whats the matter? Staz asked truly worried. The gopher I visited was forced to open his neck somehow. he said quietly, Something controlled him while he futily struggled against its grasp. But what could do that? she asked. He walks our world. said Ben horrifyingly, Now that he has an army and he has removed the order, he can infiltrate our realm. I dont believe hes here, he couldnt. Besides weve seen no army and dont know the order has been killed. said Darius. Who else would dare give word to attack in a chapel and have the power to control a mans will into killing himself? Ben said gravely. First things first, we have to see if we can contact the order. Staz said as she sat down beside Darius. Ben, youll have to stay here, Staz and I will go to Teneth to try and contact the order. said Darius again starting to show his usual self. Wont matter, never has a priest been hunted by these creatures since he last walked our world. This time though, he has removed the order and well not last long against any without it. Ben said as he walked into another room. Its not like Ben to be so cold. Staz remarked. He hasnt seen battle before, and I dont think he took it well. replied Darius.
