Ageless

by Jemma   May 8, 2008

Open mindedness lets me go
Whilst ever I give entrance to those who invade upon my youthfulness

I am the one and only, the one and only me
Secluded in my individuality
My indifference in myself, in the world
In my unforeseen circumstances and knotted heartstrings

Do you even realise
The words are held too tight within my tears?
That my heartfelt words scorn my ignorance
And foolishness for letting them ever fly

I don't, and refuse to, live the life
They long to live vicariously

Vivaciously tightening their leash to the muzzle they've fitted on me

Your pains and triumphs are many, and great
But need never belittle my own
We all suffer, even if only through another's eyes

A life ahead, unfelt, unfeeling
Too faint and wispy to determine its intention

I'm restricted by definition
Determined by recognition
And all is lost, for nothing is as it once was
