For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic

by Tammie   May 16, 2008

Leaves fell in spring and you found it so beautiful,
Yet when the flowers bloomed in autumn you cried.
Finding the beauty in opposites never amazed you,
But then again, you'd shine every time you lied.

Forever never ended unless it was your promise made,
And while I wish, like we all do, that I was wrong,
I went ahead and crashed through your doors anyway,
Even though I knew this wasn't going to be worth it all along.

If I may say so myself; for a pessimist, I'm pretty optimistic,
And I think you should take a leaf out of my book,
One of those that you found so beautiful falling in spring,
'Cause with your expression, you push me away, every time I look.

I tried to douse myself in the prettiest of perfumes,
Just so you'd put a goofy smile on your sullen looking face,
So with a bright eyed view, I'll keep telling myself its all okay,
Just so these days don't pass and seem like it's all a waste.

[[ An old poem. Never really liked it much. ]]
