Does darkness exist?

by Michael D Nalley   May 17, 2008

Does darkness exist, it certainly does
Yet, Light always will be and always was
Darkness has very little or almost no effect
Where there is balance and light can reflect

Many times I have listened to the silent voices
That has led me to the ills of bad choices
Other times it seems the darkness just fell
As I experienced a little taste of hell

Light is a warm reality not unlike a romance
The universe depends on chemical balance
As the real world seems to keep on turning
The astronomical light keeps on burning

For a very long time it has been that way
Each turn brings the hope of a new day
Joy and sorrow rest balanced on the scales
Where the power of divine love never fails

    Darkness....infinite nothingness

lol....it thinks its infinite, thinks it house's all of existence, but little does it know the light has engulfed it. But set inside a thing called TIME, light will engulf it. thus in the ultimate end of a begining. darkness, it simply dont exist.

This is very good as well, and has great emotion. However the rhyming of romance and balance is a little shakey but it works as slant rhyming and doesn't ruin the piece. Also the meter was a little off now and then but it was still a very good piece. 4/5 i enjoyed reading this piece

Wow very well written. you brought up the hope despite the obstacle that every indidual pass through, and on how you try to point out that balance is not merely a word but it really exist..

This was an okay piece. I felt though, that a lot of this poem was missing something, or perhaps it had too much of something. Sorry I can be more specific.

My favorite stanza was the second one - I liked the tone and the rhymes in this stanza a lot.
