Running

by aknives sweet kiss   May 19, 2008

My shoes hit the gravel as I run
Running from what I do not know
Just something inside me screams at me to run
I close my eyes as I run on this gravel road
Letting my dog be my eyes and ears
listening to my mp3 player
I run
I let thoughts run through my head
I feel my chest squeeze and as well as my lungs
I let the pain take me
I turn for home still running out of breath and begin to get light headed
the whole way the smell of cut grass and heavy smell of rain
the grey clouds come
I keep pressing on letting my chest scream at me
my lungs lacking air
I sprint the last bit
till I cant run nor
think
I let my scars show on the run
Let myself be free
I let my head get light
and let my body be over come by pain.

(not sure if i will change it or add to it)

I think this is an awesome poem. You should leave it like it is. Although adding more could make it better. And in my point of view i feel suspense at the end?? Great poem
