Killing the pain

by jeffery sechrest   May 21, 2008

The ache in his heart,
He feels it every day.
His words caught in his throat,
His eyes will never stay dry.
The pain he'll always feel,
Caused by her love.
He's hooked like a fish on a reel,
As the shadows draw close.
Her face in his mind,
As tears swell in his eyes.
He wishes he'd just died,
So he wouldn't of heard her words.
The pain that pirced his heart,
Hurt more than the razor's edge.
His mind became clouded with such a thought,
As he looks at his face.
The reflection in the mirror,
Showing that of a dead love.
The only comfort sought: a razor,
Each slash.
Ridding him of her memory,
But it only hinders what he thought.
