If You Can Do It, I Can Do It Too

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   May 25, 2008

Blindfold my eyes to prohibit my sight.
If you can do it, I can do it too.
For what I believe in, don't let me fight.
Let us see how good it is to be you.

Numb all that hurts me so I'm ignorant of pain.
Turn away my head so I can't see the innocent die.
Cease my just actions, but allow me to complain.
Just shut me up with a joint so I don't think about why.

Let me waste my life to live by doing nothing at all.
Take away my rights so there's no freedom of speech.
Save myself from the horrid pain by letting others fall.
Dangle hope far away so it's out of my reach.

Tell me to run from the world before I get hurt.
I'm not ignorant of destruction, I'm just idle.
Let me flee from all that's wrong, the world I desert.
In a certain sense of being, I'm homicidal.

How good is it to be you?
You weakling, you fiend, you coward.
You even know it is true.
It is true, your life has soured.

-Wow, this is awesome. I love how you start the poem out.. With "If you can do it, I can do it too."

I mean.. This is just so true. Anyone can do anything if they set their mind to it. Just because one person can do something, doesn't mean someone else can't. I love it. :] Hmm.. Excellently written poem. This poem was just so awesome. Your on a roll with some awesome poems, Keep it up! 5/5. :]]
