The Angel From My Dream

I sat alone that night
Admiring the beauty of the endless sky
And the grace of the stars shining so bright

I lay there so still
Holding the moment to treasure
Lost in time
Not knowing where I am
Or who I am anymore

I lost track of everything
Its all gone with you
Love .. Life .. Meaning
All I have got left is my faith
Its what keeps me sane
What pulls me from drowning deep in this pain

Lying there on the shallow ground
I can feel the cool breeze of the night against my face
And can almost hear the stillness of the darkness
So I closed my eyes and wished upon the countless stars
Prayed for God to save me

Take me away
To a place where I belong
Where I wont get hurt
Where his shadow cant haunt me

It fell so gently a drop of longing; a tear
Did I taint the clouds with my grieve ?
Or was it just my heart crying out loud ?
I could smell the bitter sweet scent of the night now
Full of muss and confusion
Despair and misfortune

But as I fell further into the dusk
I witnessed a miracle
An angel shining like a star
Wrapping the atmosphere with warmth and cordiality
Opened my eyes
Whispered into my ears
Words so strange but yet came with such ease
"Awaken from this dream
Awaken to this life for your time is still not done
Fill your heart with hope and learn to love again "
And with the blink of an eyelash he was gone

I've awaken with a strange high
I've awaken to the reality of existence
I've awaken to the angel from my dream

I breathed in slowly and realized that the pain was gone
Only to be replaced by an overpowering feeling
A feeling I have yet not experienced but still it felt familiar
"Hope"
It is what I saw in the angel's eyes
What kept me alive for all this time
What allowed me to survive
What will heal my scars
And help me live again
To finish my part in this mysterious novel they call life.
