Mirror man

by Grant Gilbert AKA Slash   Jun 4, 2008

The mirror man
Some quality time I've spent with a man
And he's taken some time to explain who I am
An interesting fellow he seems to be
But opinionated and cocky, if his way you don't see

Together we've shared some intimate thoughts
But physical help, I've received from him nought
Every minute of every day, he's always close at hand
Our conversations so soft, that you can't understand

We've travelled this earth from end to end
Ridden tuk tuks in Calcutta and swam down the Thames
Climbed Aires rock & caught fish in Anchorage Bay
He's an interesting fellow, didn't I say

He's quite a clever chap; he helped me with Pythagoras Theorem
And every time when I'm quiet, I think I can hear him
When I'm posed with a problem, it's with him I'll consult
They say it's not good all this time on my own, but what a fine friend I've found as a result

He likes nothing better than to contemplate, the meaning of life and our ultimate fate
Some people don't understand and can't seem to relate
Some people say that I've lost my mind
What they don't seem to know is, I've made the ultimate find

When I'm upset and I'm ranting and raving
He's my calming force, my peace and serenity when my sanity he's saving
So I lie here in my bed and we have a quiet chat
But I'll see him in the morning when I look in the mirror and he stares back
