Peaceful man

by Grant Gilbert AKA Slash   Jun 9, 2008

Peaceful man

These fists of steel have turned to hands of supple clay
And now I shape what lies before me with a gentle spirit
As I look upon a new found world
I see the sun of amber flame rest it's weary head
On the flat top mountain of verdant emerald green
I stand here and look upon a sky of sapphire blue
At which God in all His glory had flung His pallet at
With huge splashes of ruby red and amethystine purple
And my spirit soars
The evening breeze gently caresses my skin
As it moves with the whisper of the Gods
And I discover what a little man I actually am
So if these supple hands and gentle spirit
Can touch your life and maybe, just maybe, change the colour in your eyes
For just one second, and help you see what I have seen
I will die a peaceful man

WOW!! Another well written poem of yours Grant!!! I liked it VERY MUCH!!! I think I just might take your advice on writing a free verse poem as well. I must admit though...I STILL LOVED reading the poem of yours "YOU TOUCHED ME". That is by far the best of your poems that I have read thus far.

I thank you for all of the wonderful comment you wrote to me regarding some of my poems. I appreciate all the comments and feel free to give me some advice of how I could improve (if any). I welcome all of your comments.

Grant, my friend i know that it truly takes strength to find a peace such as this. Instead of being caught up in all that opposes it in life.
Truly words of inspiration thank you 5/5
