Losing Hope

by Ixora   Jun 22, 2008

-a poem with no meaning.

I blinked and fear gripped my chest
for frightened as ever was i
that a kiss and a touch were too far away
and wicked lips had spoken their goodbye

i glanced around and darkness arose
my irises did attempt to enlarge
to find a way out of such horror
and dispute the evil in charge

i gasped for breath, let tears fall
yet there was nothing there to soothe
a broken heart that can only teach
how to grow apart from hopes of youth

seldom do they know,
when in her eyes they stare
of the weather she has troubled
to which no other can compare

holding tight yet confused they'd love
because what else can one do?
if still cold she smiles at them
and whispers "I love you too"

but one can feel, though perhaps not admit
that there was no force or passion in her words
and with good intentions he dropped her hand
to watch her fly away with her leadened birds
