Robotic and Numb

I'm not who you're talking to,
because I'm not there.
This you can not help me through,
because I don't care.

I'm no longer the person you knew,
so don't act like I am.
I'm not the same, and I don't like you.
I just don't give a damn.

The kind and considerate person is gone
and has been replaced with being numb.
Now I am heartless, robotic, and withdrawn.
When I cut, this is how I become.

Your words are screamed, but I don't hear,
I just stare down at the knife.
I cannot feel if you are near;
focused on taking my life.

Now I'm the mime; a suicidal mute
and there's nothing you can do.
It's no longer fun and games; it's not cute.
Then, you spoke something untrue.

"You don't love me," is what you said.
The words stung my ears and awakened me.
Right then I slowly turned my head.
"Yes, I do very much. You just can't see."

Right then we both embraced
and the knife was taken away.
My life I couldn't waste,
because of you on that dark day.

Based off a true friendship (I'm not the one with the knife, don't worry).

    What an emotional poem. My favorite stanza was:

    Right then we both embraced
    and the knife was taken away.
    My life I couldn't waste,
    because of you on that dark day.

    Very sad, but with a happy ending. I like that. Sometimes all you ever need is friendship to pull you through your darkest days. If they remain by your side despite every downfall, you know they're a true friend. Excellent poem, 5/5.

    Woah, this piece was mindblowing! aside from the fact that i can completely understand and relate, in whole this poem was powered by strong emotions and excellent usage of words. the flow was gorgeous and consistent. i could feel the deep sorrow embedded in each word. i almost felt like crying after i read this poem. brilliant work. i love it so much! this is definitely going into my fav's. thanks for writing such a wonderful piece. you made my day. 5/5 love and peace.

    Oh woww. This is full of sad emotions. Blaaah. I hate when friendships are broken. I'm really sorry to hear this. But, you'll be okay.. I know you are a strong person. This poem had a great flow to it though and was very easy to follow. It's a great piece, 5/5
