Now we have her looking down smiling

by kate   Jul 18, 2008

Her words were with wisdom.
her thinking was truthful.
her eyes were a sparkle.
now we have her looking down smiling.

it was her hugs that got to us.
they were warm and welcome.
never thought something could happen like this.
now we have her looking down smiling.

she was sick but yet still strong.
the last day I saw her.
was before they buried her in the ground.
everyone making a huge sound.
grief was on their shoulders.
now we have her looking down smiling.

I'm not sure what you were suppose to do.
smile and talk, get along with everyone.
what was she suppose to think?
that no one loved her? but yet she couldn't see?
everyone did love her very much.
now we have her looking down smiling.

it was a Saturday afternoon.
she passed away.
she was my aunt, a warm loving person she was.
the smile she gave us while she was alive.
now we have her looking down smiling.

**my aunt passed away a few months ago and I was thinking about her today because her house is right across from my other aunts house and I went over today so yeah ha., thank you for reading**

Aww. This is the third poem in a row that has given me goosebumps. Blah. Anyways, this poem was wonderfully written. You did a wonderful job explaining that your aunt means a lot to you and such, and letting her go wasn't the easiest thing. It takes a lot for someone to write something so real like this. Wonderful job. 5/5. (:
