A Souls Salvation

We've both been with people in the past,
Tried to make the most of so called "love",
Wasted years on crushes who wouldn't last,
Finally found something to be truly proud of.

Never given a chance, always destined to fail,
Made believers out of ourselves and others,
Said we'd never prevail, useless to no avail,
Love is possible, only in the heart of another's.

Still we ignored the advice, didn't think twice,
To spend together forever was in our hearts,
Maybe doubt did entice our roll of the dice,
Take a chance, thats how everything starts.

We did the unexpected and fingers connected,
The journey is the happiness not the destination,
Never feeling rejected, you're always protected,
Love found in your heart was my souls salvation.

Today makes a year, the greatest of my life,
You'll never know what you truly mean to me,
I smile knowing soon we'll be husband and wife,
I love you with all my heart, Happy Anniversary. :)

I love you with everything I am Sara Anderson...Always & Forever xoxox

    Those were my favorite lines. They made this piece what it was, in my opinion.

    I adore this poem. It's cute and powerful. It shows your emotions very well.

    The flow was great, the vocabulary was sweet and touching. It fit with the subject well. None of your rhymes seem forced. They all make this more beautiful.

    i loved this line "The journey is the happiness not the destination"... i agree with this so much, but also knowing what the destination is, makes the whole journey worthwhile in a sense... just getting to where youve always wanted to be, your destination, is one of the greatest feelings you could ever feel, i think :)
