The rain comes

by Austin   Jul 25, 2008

Light shines across the sky while
While the rain comes down
The tears of the angels drowning the land
Men huddle in their masses praying for salvation
And the rain keeps coming

We sit in our houses
high atop mountains
letting those below suffocate under the rain
We hope that our shelters can hold
we have the supplies we can survive
and the rain keeps coming

We control what little we have
give it to no one and
barely give it to those we know
strangers control our flow of food and life
yet we still seek it
and the rain keeps coming
The rain keeps coming

This is an interesting poem, and I think you have done an excellent job with it, however I do not feel it is worthy of a 5. You used the word rain far too many times and lost me a few times. However the imagery is what makes this excellent.
