Road of Shadows

I stand here in silence
Walking down this road I don't belong
Feeling lost in all the shadows
Knowing that staying here would be wrong

Drops of rain begin to fall
They hit my cheeks and hide my real tears
Won't show him how much I'm hurting
Even though he wants to know my needs and cares

He's happy and I want to keep him that way
We're going to be together and live happily ever after
We have great times, we have bad times
I can feel the wet from the tears and joy from the laughter

But people and time like to step in our way
Give us hard and time step on our toes
Saying we did this wrong or that wrong
And on and on it slowly goes

But I'm sick and tired of the world around us
All we want to do is be together and live forever
So I'll keep walking down this path of shadows
And be willing to fight anything, come whatever
