A compass and a smile

by tearsforeveryscar   Aug 31, 2008

A mother went and bought a gift
before her sons big day
This gift was something
that would always help find his way

She gave him a little talk
and handed him his gift
He smiled and he hugged her
as with excitement he did shift

He opened it up to find a compass
something simple and small
She started to tear and asked if he liked it
he said it was the best gift at all

Well the big day came
and he married his girl
He spun her on the dance floor
and around him she did twirl

He told her something later
that really made her smile
So they sat on the bed
and talked awhile

He told her of the compass
she smiled because she already knew
"I wanted to pull it out while you came down the isle" he said
"because i knew it would point straight to you."
