No Hope

by Bill Turner   Aug 3, 2008

No hope for a brighter day
Empty politics fill the air
Sold out is what they say
Politicians just do not care

Constituents do not matter
Working only for a selfish need
American blood continues to splatter
Hiding in congress behind their greed

Suffering from the disease of me
Our representatives lie to the public
Forgetting about how we became free
What it took to make the republic

It is time to take it all back
Rise up and create a ruckus
Remember Boston? The tea in a sack
We can no longer let them hose us

We the people have a right
Deserving not to be taxed to death
We shall not go quietly into the night
Needing to fight until our last breath

Bill Turner always writes well! Doesn't he? :)
A very thought provoking write. Politics kills not only a nation but the whole humanity. Blood shade is bad whether it is America or Algeria. Looking from this point of view I can say it's wonderful. It's a very relevant poem.

Very deep and intense thoughts come from your words. It's a shame what our country has become.
    Excellent write!

East or West I think politics is the same. It is sickening how people in power so shamelessly manipulate and stagnate every act of goodwill. Even vulture won't eat them even if these suckers die in the wilderness!!!! Hope they choke on their own breath!!!!! But then where do we stand without politicians?? The world will be in shambles, no?

    Bill,

This is so true even here in a distant land from yours, politics is just the same and dirty in any part of the world. That is the only consistant part that all politicians have in common.

Lie once, if you get away with it, then continue!

Great write which evoked many strong thoughts.

    Regards,

    Steve
