There In The Dark (one for the boss)

by charles   Aug 7, 2008

Jan 3rd 5:45 at night
What started with a simple call turned into a fight
You said you were there to help, not to hurt
But it only got worse with every word
There in the dark I felt so alone
With you screaming F/Y over the phone
Maybe you intended to cause some pain
As you screamed it again & again
I tried to speak, you just didn't care
I only thank God you weren't really there
There in the dark there was no escape
From all the abuse, the emotional rape
As it continued you did it once more
Broke me down just like before
You kept yelling about how much things cost
Never stopped to think of what you'd just lost
There in the dark I tried to forget
But all I could hear was your voice in my head
Never-mind all the whys & what fors
You won the battle, but really lost the war
So I guess all that's left to say in the end
Is no more talking, you're no longer my friend
