How would Life Be...

by rich sanchez   Aug 16, 2008

How would life be,

If we never had a family tree?

There would be no such thing as history,

Time would be a great mystery,

For no one would think about the past,

All they would see is the future and an hour glass,

And notice how time itself doesn't last,

For what would be the purpose of counting time?

If we didn't have a timeline,

We would go through life as though we were blind,

We would be mere specs of dust in the wrinkles of time,

Living our lives without a sign,

Without a sign of which course to run,

No one to look back on and learn from,

And days wouldn't be measured by the sun,

For the concept of the word "day" would be an illusion,

All would live in great confusion,

Without time we wouldn't be able to walk,

So the next time you awake,

Thank your alarm clock,

And when your sitting in history class,

Know that what will happen in the future,

Will always be triggered from the past,

For how can man solve life's puzzle without the other half?

How could our life come to be...

If we never had a family tree?
