When Things Were Simple

by Jemma   Aug 16, 2008

Life sometimes gets a little complicated
And death takes us all for fools
But there are good fortunes in the heavens
Showering us still with their riches

We used to have fun when things were simple
When a laugh didn't cost us a meal
When our lives were determined
Not by the wool we have spun or turned on our little spindle

Remember, such a phase, so strange to think back
Complication, all a riddle in my hand
Do you really recall how things once were
When they were simple?
