In The Garden

by Robert Daniel Long   Aug 19, 2008

I stand here
In the early morning
A mist fills this place
Serenity
Is the essence there of
Peace
The music

A music
Made by the waters
Of a stream
Of life giving water

The very one I see
Gently rolling by
On it's way
Through the heart of the garden

The currents of the water
Ever so quietly move
Down through a garden
Where only beauty
Has stood

This place
Is time honored
Each thing
Living or hand made
Has it's place

And
Has grown
Into the majestic things
They were designed
To be

In this garden of serenity

The songs of the birds
The melody of the wind
Each thing we do
Draws me
To the one

Who is wanting to meet me
In the midst of the garden

One
Only has to look
Down the path

Toward
The heart of the garden
And see JESUS
Walking through

A fragrant setting
He's created for me and you
He's calling out

To see
If we'll respond
And turn around
And run to meet Him
Where He stands
Reaching out

Waiting to embrace us
In the midst of the garden

THE GARDEN OF SERENITY
