Chains

by Valiantpenguin   Aug 23, 2008

He's bound in the chains of his own self doubt
he wants the help but he won't cry out
Blinded by his own self hate
He can't see the love that has come to date
He searches so hard for the girl he calls "the one"
But he doesn't see that girl has been there all along
He's wrapped up so tightly, locked in place
He can't see that what he searches for is right in front of his face

So broken and alone like a dying rose red
The girl is waiting while the tears are shed
"Forget me" he said, like she ever could
"I still love you" she whispered, "though you don't think I should"
She wants to give up, just lay down and die
But she still hopes for him, so she'll sit there and cry
She's looking for the key to unlock his heart
Hoping the process won't tear her apart
The chains are getting loose, when they break he will fall
She's standing beside him, she'll be there through it all
