My Words - My World

by The Angel of Secrets   Aug 28, 2008

My paper may be white, and my pen holds nightly black ink,
I write the truth of my inside and out, as easy as I blink.
There was never a poem or story I told, that wasn't what was real,
I never faked a word about how I truly feel.

Never did I write a dishonest and betraying word,
Never did I tell you of things I had never heard.
When I told you I was hurting, never did I lie,
I never faked the words telling you I wished to die.

I never told the stories of what I went through those lonely nights,
I never lied when I said my days felt like a series of fallen fights.
The fairytales, the failures, the distrust, it was all too real,
And still you can't understand how I truly feel.

But I told you of it, the stories of me, I never lied,
When people betrayed me, a bit of my soul really died.
I didn't take away the trust; someone did this to me,
You have no idea how much I wanted you to see.

The poems, the explanations, the came out in my ink,
And still you can't understand the way my mind think.
I grabbed your hand by writing, I wrote for you to see,
I wrote these words so you can look at the hidden me.

It's really not that easy for me, to just take that reaching hand,
You have to see, you have to know, if you want to understand.
So my paper may be white, and my pen holds nightly dark ink,
But my art is so much more; the words hold more than you think.
