The Bells Towl

by Hope Bound Heart   Aug 29, 2008

Today's the day of reckoning
When dreams become shattered
Time to look at life
To remember what mattered

Today is the lover's dream
Rotting with the color of black
To send a mid air love message
But never to receive one back

To remember the sound of bells
For whom do they toll?
Read the message in the sky
From the dark of satins scroll

To remember a wish
A wish for things that work
To paraphrase life
Creating a new excerpt

An excerpt of evil
From one in the sky
To remember the dawn
And forget how to cry

For there are no tears
Where tears don't reside
Only the hate
That builds up over time

I am the dark one
Who enters your soul
I am the reaper
And you are my toll

I shall diminish
The hope you keep inside
Into your heart
My evil shall reside

Into the night
Does the darkness consume
Burying your trust
Covering your wounds

You do not struggle
Your resistance I'll purge
You will feel the power
Through your body the evil will surge

Hardening your veins
Consuming your soul
This the night for you,
The bells shall toll
