Perfect Day

by Timothy S   Aug 31, 2008

Today felt better than an ordinary day
The sun rose silently to let me get that extra rest
Crept through late morning to fall upon dreaming eyelids
Awakening from a beautiful dream, that reocurring dream
The same one since day one, growing old, growing happy
Everything that day seemed to fall in perfect place
Fitting between emptiness in attention, no one looking at me
Slight cues setting up for the moving along of the day
Each hour seemed like a minute, and each speedily passing
Followed through with the plan, to ending this day happily
Swallowed his life through the pill bottle with a note
"Don't worry, I knew there'd always be more after me"
