Winter

by gracey grey   Sep 3, 2008

There is no place like home
where memories embeds
loving sequences woven
and designed just to get by

With the silence of youth
comes despair with chains
Locks you up
while lame excuses
makes you wonder why?

Then down comes the spikes
as courses change.....

And for an ounce of happiness
comes bargain
For nothing is free

While tears glistens
you know a part of you just died

When the final bell tolls
who takes the blame of deeds done?

Anti-clock rhythm left unjustified
even though truth is pure
winter takes the crown ......

This poem is so very true. Yes, nothing is free. You've captured a very sensitive part of life. Lines are very good an effective. Very well written poem.
