She's Not Okay

by The Angel of Secrets   Sep 3, 2008

Being born into strength,
For the first time facing the world.
With pain she came,
Another healthy little baby girl.

Wrapped in a pink blanket,
Given to a fathers arms.
Looking up at a concerned face,
Knowing nothing of the world's harms.

Growing up with loud voices,
Standing in the middle of a war.
She discovers a broken home,
A world she had not seen before.

Eyes burning from hate,
Backs beaten by an angry belt.
Happy it did not happen to her,
But as painful it must have felt.

Being brilliant at imagining,
Other people's pain.
She sees the world like no one does,
With the thunder and the rain.

She discovers a world of knowledge,
A world where words matter.
Books, literature, poetry,
A world where things shatter.

They see the world like no one does,
They see the pain, the hate.
Love shall not conquer all,
This is humans doomed fate.

She doesn't understand it,
Why she should stick around.
At the age of only 13,
She hits the deepest ground.

Finding comfort in her words,
Writing page by page by page.
Hope of making a change,
Growing with the age.

Discovering love does exist,
But never feeling it's bliss.
Knowing she is not worthy,
She always knew this;

She was born to see the world,
In colors as it was made.
A world where hatred and pain lives,
And love is meant to fade.

Craving so hard to see a world,
Where what roams around is love.
Trying so hard to pray,
Giving up in the powers above.

People asking questions,
But she doesn't even dare to speak.
She may have been born to strength,
But she was made weak.

No one understands,
She sees what no one know.
She sees the real world,
What no one dares to show.

You try waking up in the morning,
Not wanting to face another day.
She was born with a broken heart,
So no, she's not okay.
