I'M WHO YOU ARE

by Robert Daniel Long   Sep 17, 2008

You know
These days
The rains seem endless
Falling
And crowding the way
The clouds dark
And unyielding
And
It seems
That I've lost my way

You don't know me
I'm a thought
You've pushed aside
Held
For some place in time
Waiting
For the day
I'm brought forth
To be mulled
And pondered over
Looking a reprieve

Our attitudes
Are dry
And compassionate
I cry out
My voice is drowned
In the turmoil of laughter

As you make fun of me

You don't know me
Yet
You turn a deaf ear
To me
When I'm awakened
And I'm hushed into silence
Swelling to the point
Of explosion

Yearning to speak

I go forth
Waiting for that day
A day when I'm released

And I can run free
An emotion
That's been given room
Unleashed
To move and speak

Given up to be found
Soothed
And unbound
I am your emotions
That
That makes you
Who you are

Learn who I am
And listen
