The Happiest Day

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Sep 29, 2008

The happiest day is touching your skin
and waiting for fuzziness to begin.
The happiest day is in your hands
while I think of the wedding plans.

The happiest day reflects in your eyes
as you soothe even the smallest cries.
The happiest day is in your embrace
while I'm touching your sweet face.

The happiest day echoes your voice
as I hear vibrant laughter rejoice.
The happiest day traces your lips
as I memorize even your finger tips.

I know, the happiest day will be,
when you're far away from me.

    Jen,

You really got me there...a lovely poem describing a deep love, perhaps rarer still an enduring love, a love that caresses you with warmth and security even when apart. A reliable love, one that can withstand the pressures of this world and carry its momentum on and beyond any seeable horizon.

But no! I found my smile whilst thinking you had attained this with an open mouth of disapointment.

A well written piece, with good rhyme and meter of course. The fact that you suprised me was all the better, so consider your intended intension succesful.

    Well done
