Smother My Sunshine

by AmberSherrellxxIve Been Sitting Here Trying To Find Myselfxx   Oct 3, 2008

Bright sunlight is dancing through my window,
Shining it's warmth upon my face.
Yet, it still can't melt the frozen land,
That's taken my hearts place.

The light glistens radiantly off the tears,
That are clingling to my flushed cheeks.
They sparkle like priceless diamonds and jewels,
From my treasure chest eyes have leaked.

The rays seem to make my lips move,
Much slower than they really are.
As I mumble words of sorrow and regret,
That I've kept bottle up in my soul's jar.

And a cloud is cast over my light,
Darking my darkest days.
Sadness is taking over again,
Smothering my sunshine's rays.
