Thief

by Forever Broken   Oct 17, 2008

Congratulations you did it
You committed the perfect crime
But you made one big mistake
You left footprints behind

January sixth
The day you stole my heart
The beginning of the end
The day I fell apart

You did it so perfectly
Not a fingerprint to trace
But you left behind a witness
That will always match your face

My heart was whole before you took it
Every inch was still in tact
But it was in a thousand pieces
The day I got it back

You left behind evidence
footprints I cannot erase
those simple little clues
are what really sealed the case

What hurts me the most
Is that youll never do time
For all that you put me through
For committing the perfect crime

WOW! This is so far the best I have read of you. I mean the way you started this poem - it was just simply amazing! Really I have no words of praise to shower but this simply left me so speechless. From the start to the end it was a perfect picture painted - deceit and sadness portrayed all in one. Amazing! 5/5 from me as always!
