The Purpose

by Ixora   Nov 8, 2008

Despite this gaping hole inside,
i feel the stitches healing
inside me there's a fire unafraid of burning
we have a purpose you and i,
sometimes too scary to admit
but like the pieces of the biggest puzzles,
we simply seem to fit

in the darkness the flame is lighted
reflected in your eyes
arms are strength i fear to fall into,
as you capture all my cries
but in the end love is not
what one always fears will be
its simply the completion of a heart,
hemorrhaged from you an me

-absolutely no reason for this except for a sentence my friend said describing a love she once had: "We had a purpose together. It was just right." Inspired this whole little poem...i feel like many can relate. Let me know what you think.
