Empty Tank

by Timothy S   Nov 11, 2008

Running forever on a tank that feels empty
Succumbing to redemption, but never done gently
The fighting, the clawing to regain that within me
A heart that's lost in the desert, a fate left rendering
To dig deeper than before, this time no one to defend me
We all die alone, but this time the smile's not friendly
Flesh wounds in the back, shards and scars for remembering
Triumph is in the wake, overcome, even if the expense is bleed
