The Final Bow

by The Angel of Secrets   Nov 12, 2008

Avoided by the most, out of sheer fright,
She stands in the schoolyard, an unwelcome sight.
Friends to be trusted, yet she never does,
They want to but never dare to ask of what was.

The others, on the outside, they don't even see,
Other than what they imagine she could be.
An atheist, a loner, a dreadful being,
There's so much else they should be seeing.

She wishes they could see the beauty she actually is,
Asking herself: "How did I become like this?"
Yet the questions are left hanging unanswered in the air,
And friends walk beside her, ignoring the despair.

Honest to the bone, proud to the heart,
Inside she's close to falling apart.
She's scary, she's smart, and she's frightfully right,
She can punch, she can kick, and she can put up a fight.

They see nothing else, all they feel is fear,
And down her cheek falls a lonely tear.
She just wishes and hopes they could see what's there,
Know that she is too able to care.

One day, she's a week away from school,
Thinking: "How did the world become so cruel?"
No one understands, and no one wants to see,
"Why to they refuse to face the real me?"

She realizes, they don't even know she's to miss,
"I can't believe I'm going to end my life like this."
She goes to the forest, and brings with a knife,
Stabs it in her heart, she peacefully ends her life.

She didn't ever doubt, she didn't even blink,
She didn't have to worry, didn't have to think.
Her misery was over, as she falls to the ground,
As the skies growl, and there's rain all around.

Her fainted soul brings her broken heart to the sky,
Tainted, she whispers a soulful and tender goodbye.
Angels place her wings on her back as she takes her final bow,
She looks down to the world and whispers: "Am I beautiful now?"
