Feelings of rejection

by Beauty In The Breaking   Nov 23, 2008

**********************************************
Alright, this one turned out really odd and weird, I don't know how it got from where I started it to where it ended but it just happened. Broken thoughts put together to form a weird kind of sense I guess.
**********************************************

A doll held by her strings
made to dance with her puppeteers whims,
no control of her own life
just made to move to what others want,
silently she cries at night.

Kept on a shelf out of the way
until they want her to dance again,
left to her heartbreak and bitter tears,
feeling lost and hurt and lonely
with the bitter taste of being used.

A beautiful girl that feels hollow inside
struggling to hold it all together,
another hit to her fragile confidence,
another rejection from the one that she loves,
crying herself to sleep.

Knowing shes coming close to the edge,
you can only cry so much
before you just can't cry anymore,
she can only be strong for so long
before she finally cracks from the weight.

The world spinning around
so fast you just can't keep up,
disappointments hitting so hard
they bring you to your knees,
the tears slowly burning through you.

Time crawls so cruelly slow,
loneliness gets deeper and more painful,
you smile in spite of the tears in your eyes
and try telling yourself that your strong
because you've held on this long already.

Looking back you wonder where your life went,
how you managed to do the things that you did,
memories still cut like a razor,
like a knife stuck straight through the heart,
laughing in grim satisfaction.
