Damn The Roses

by Melissa   Nov 24, 2008

Damn the roses
for their quiet despair
and budding exhibition
of a mans half-hearted attempt
at love

the flaming petals
flickering
against his hand
should have cautioned him
from such mindlessness

but apparently, the scintillation
bedazzles husbands into believing
rosettes are indeed an utterance
of tenderness

and not a bouquet of sorries

Oh my! So much being said within your Poem, A bouquet of roses given for mistakes made by any man seems as stinging nettles, they should only be given out of Love, where there beauty will be appreciated and heart warming to the recipient. Wonderfully written.
    Peace and Blessings
