Blood Feud

by Conrad   Nov 28, 2008

They are the enemy
and always so.
We hate them like
the blackest crow.

No honor, no love
savages beyond beasts.
They crash our parties
and ruin our feasts.

Barbarians, see,
to the very end.
Stay away child
and never befriend.

A maiden in town
catches his eye.
This perfect girl
I'll give it a try.

Their date is magic
true love at first sight.
Lovers with no need
of quarrel or fight.

On learning last name
they both give a sigh.
Knowing what they can't have
makes them both want to die.

No matter the cost,
the young man says.
You will be mine
in that splended white dress.

She says love is true
and they date for a while.
Everything perfect
in a life of closed file.

Marry me today
he says to her, true.
Denounce your name
and I'll for mine too.

Im sorry she whispers
and cries but one tear.
I do love you so
you will always be dear.

I'm leaving you love
I cannot live this way.
Love isn't that strong
I'm not here to stay.
