To Dream of Nothing

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Nov 29, 2008

Maybe one of you lovelies could tell me what this is called, I know it's a type of erethree, but is it a quadruple or triple or?...Annnyyyyway, an erethree goes by syllable counts. The first line is 1 syllable, the second 2, and so on until it gets to ten. After I did a full erethree I did a reversed one, then I repeated the process...so you can see the dilemma I'm having of what to call it. It's partially reversed and quadrupled? Maybe?

Now
Never
Back then is
Now the future
Our words unspoken
Every sound silenced
All memories are vanquished
Leaving our dreams to light the path
Hope remains dangled over our heads
We jump and grab at nonexistent things
Only a comfort, that's all we ask
A small warmth for us to capture
One less bloodshed to mourn for
A hand to hold on to
A small distant voice
A chance to sleep
Let us dream
We need
Help
Yes
That's it
So simple
Something to help
So we're not alone
No more torturing
No living in cages
No more terrifying screams
To wake us from our weak sleeping
Sleep; the only true escape we have
It paints our realities in dead black
Numbing all our pains of what is real
A getaway for a few hours
Having a nightmare is fine
At least a dream of nothing
Though nothing is a fear
Pain means we're alive
We could break free
Travel for
Life or
Death
