Whisper in the Dark (Rhyming Acrostic)

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Dec 3, 2008

Washed up dreams on a shore of terror
Harbor no hope of erasing an error.
Infinite regret of the actions taken
Send the souls to a place forsaken.
Perforated hearts remain from the deprivation
Each a victim of the accidental annihilation.
Regurgitating feelings of sorrow and grief,

In the end I took their lives, so I'm a thief.
Nightly shivers run down my spine;

That spark I saw, that was a sign.
Hatred of myself engulfs my soul.
Everything died, I'm no longer whole.

Darkening skies spread over the city.
Armor was no help, it was a pity.
Remembering is painful, it left its mark,
Killing them left a whisper in the dark.
---

This poem is about a person being aware of a bomb in a city, and doing nothing about it.

Wow seriously every line of yours was given careful thoughts in it...it metaphorically depicts the on going event.I'm really mesmerized by your words even though the poem holds a dark theme

    Excellent work
    5/5 from me

Hey, I really like this! I just realized that its an acrostic after I read it...physics homework fried my brain today...but it sounded great, acrostics are so hard to write! I could definitely see the emotion in this poem too, great job 5/5.
