Exquisite Night

by Once an Angel   Dec 8, 2008

Tonight I sung with the celestial choir,
standing in companionship with the stars.

I told humorous tales with the crescent moon,
in the glow of the Chester Cat's smile.

I played music with the cricket orchestra,
Adding to their violins, my cello's undertone.

My soul flew on the wings of snowy owls,
Diving through the heavens with their grace.

I croaked with the deep green bullfrogs,
Adding resonance to the nocturnal harmony.

I prayed with the gray painted wolves,
And howled to their goddess, the moon.

I basked in the luminous glow of fireflies,
Watching their breathtaking dance unfold,

Until the sun beckoned on the day,
To which I said, "Goodbye exquisite night."
