Butterflies

by Sylvia   Dec 10, 2008

Velvet wings fluttering in the spring air.
Beautiful creatures are flitting about,
from one flower to the next with such flare.
Stopping just for a moment to taste sweet nectar.

A symbol of love, two butterflies together flying;
if a butterfly lands on you, it's a sign of good luck;
the personification of a person's soul dying;
all superstitions from ancient cultures.

Flying around free from all care,
unaware that you may only live for a while.
God has painted you with colors so rare,
visions of beauty for us to enjoy.
